An early South America habit:
- Central Andes. Climbing obscure peaks to the South of Santiago, whilst
making a TV series called "Cumbres de Chile".
- Northern Patagonia with Raleigh International. Skills training and several
obscure first ascents, as well as an ascent of Cerro Castillo.
- Torres Del Paine. An Anglo Chilean expedition, making several attempts
on the South Tower, and an ascent of the North Tower of Paine.
- Fitzroy. Making ascents of lesser peaks around Fitzroy in "los
glaciares" national park.
- Cordillera Blanca. Several acclimatisation peaks and some excellent
climbing, prior to an attempt on the SE face of Huantsan. This is still
unclimbed.
has recently given way to himalayan forays:
- Parvati South - An attempt to finish the SW ridge that Rob Collister
had attempted some thirty years before. It remains unclimbed!
- Kalanag on Skis - Guiding a 6000m peak in the Garwhal with the man himself
