To travel on skis, through the winter mountains, is to be a complete mountaineer.
Skiing has become the highlight of my Alpine apprenticeship, and one of
my greatest passions.
To work as a ski guide combines my love for alpine mountaineering with
the rewards of coaching.
There is so much more to ski touring, than the Chamonix-Zermatt Haute Route
(even if it is really good)! Skiing is a wonderful way to explore the more
remote valleys of the Alps, from early season day tours to multi day trips
from hut to hut.
Skis give access to the peaks and passes otherwise blocked by the winter
snow. Skiing in to the base of a climb, an Alpine summit to yourselves,
and fresh tracks all the way home - does it get any better?
Well maybe it does - taking these skills on expeditions in the Himalaya.
All the fun of foreign travel, all the excitement of an expedition, with
the safety of a speedy descent. The fun is no longer over once you reach
the top!
